Pinckney Recreation Area - Pinckney, Mi April 9th

going to do an overnight trip just to get out and test a few new pieces of gear. anyone is welcomed that would like to attend. the hike in is roughly 6 miles in to probably 8 sites. there is an outhouse (which had paper last time but i'd bring some) and a hand pump for water. there are multiple locations to hang and you will need to registar at the ranger station. i think it's $12/night plus a vehicle pass. unless it's raining or there is a strong chance of rain i do not see myself not going. i will probably arrive around 2pm i think because i'll be out in the ann arbor area in the morning.

attached is a map showing parking and hiking route. there are various ways to shorten the hike if distance is a concern. i can explain if needed. i know the map does not show camping - but there is, i've gone before. it's the area 51 of pinckney.

depending on weather and such i will be there have kids that weekend and there not ready for too harsh of climate and would like the explanation of shorting the hike there only good for 2 or 3 miles at the moment. If weather isnt up to snuff I will still stop over for the day on saturday maybe bring some dogs or something for the kids to raost on the fire.

you can walk in off goodband road and it's about a 1/4 mile with a couple hills, not that bad. you can also park at pickerel lake, about 4 spots, and walk in and that's about 3 miles. there are more hills but nothing that bad. i'd compare it to the fall hike last year.
the other option is to camp at crooked lake but it's not as remote and i would like to enjoy a hike.

dont change locations on my account there are even more ways for me to shorten the hike then that. I can get a drop off at any of the road crossings the wifes best friend lives in pichkney so it wouldnt be hard for me to get her to do a drop off for me.

Yeah, still on. Bloom and I have been talking on this but not posting, sorry. He is looking at meeting up at about 2pm. Me and my daughter will be getting dropped off for a shorter hike to not test the leg to much.
