Overnighter April 2nd - Harriman, NY

Doing an overnighter Sat April 2nd from Bear Mountain to William Brien Shelter to dial in some gear and see how the conditioning is going for the longer hike. (Total trek 16 miles.... 8 miles each way)

    Terrain is moderate to strenuous.

Just got the OK from the Fiance....

    So, Who's commin with me?

Looks like I'm a solo act this time. Gear Slug bailed and so did the Captain of Procrastination (go figure based on his trail name).

Well Water Monkey is all packed up... total final weight of the pack is a wee bit over 17.5lbs (darn tasty tortillas weigh so much). Yeah Yeah Yeah a Puerto Rican bringing tortillas cliche

Weather seemed to have cleared up for my trip... a little annoyed I was hoping to get some rain testing the first day.

Looking at highs of low 50's and bottoming out at 30*F Sat night.

I've been experimenting with some features with iMovie (try to do something new each time) so the trip report should be fairly interesting. Well to me anyway

I'll be at Bear Mountain Inn around 745am if anyone wants to pleasantly surprise me. Mis compadres estan WEENIES.

I just chowed down 6 slices of pizza I'm carbed up and ready to rock.

Wow this trip already has been a huge learning experience. Reporting from the hammock.

Quick run down I got to camp (9 miles) in 6.5 hours which included a mid day nap on the grass next to a stream. The work out program and pack weight has made a huge difference. I could have gone 5 more miles before my feet began to hurt.

Some eqipment is working out awesome... Some have minor quirks. Will report tomorrow possibly with video tomorrow too.
