Suspension help

First off..here is our setup..
We have WBBB hammocks with JRB "complete suspension system"

We encountered trees that were to close this weekend and small diameter trees at that...so the first thing is ..ok wrap the straps around the tree multiple times. Still not enough..plus now the whoopie is inside the dutch clip (is that safe) and our whoopies are as short as they can go. What do others do when trees are to close and no other trees are around?

I'm thinking it would be nice to have a system where we can take some "links" out or some simple solution to really shorten the suspension.

Any ideas? tips etc..

yes look at the second way I hang it. I use a shorter strap and use the whoopie to make up the difference on big trees. I use about 3' huggers.

That's one of the reasons I switched from all in one suspensions. I like to be able to detach segments. One time I had two trees that were really close together and I took off my whoopies and use the tree staps around the trees and use a modified sheet bend to attach the webbing to the loops on my BB. It worked great. I only had about 5 or 6 inches from the hammock to the tree and I was still able to get the proper hang.

thanks guys..man it was giving me fits..I think I might go with shorter huggers..right now I have 4' huggers..that would help some..still would like a simple method of detaching a link or so..hmmm

You also could go with 2 huggers on each side. Like a 3 foot one and a 1 foot one. They could connect like a larks head if the loops are big enough.

yea for sure..but I think I like your method in your video..of using the 3' and use whoopie to make up extra length around tree if needed..
