Question Switching to whoopie slings and weight savings?

What what i've been reading i can expect to save at least 3 ounces by switching from using traditional the line/strap suspension that warbonnet sells w/ his hammocks?

Where is the best place to purchase a complete new whoopie suspension system for my WBBB?
    http://www.jacksrbetter.com/HammockSuspensionSystem.htm
Is this package good to go? are those tree huggers the light nylon version?

Any other recommendations for optimal setup?

    Thanks in advance!

My setup is as follows: 6ft treehugger with dutchclips - tied off to the small eye of the ws, 6ft ws from whoopieslings.com, connected to the hammock in reverse with dutchbiners.
Pretty much the same way as the Jacks system. The advantage is that you don't have any loose parts and it's light....
And yes you're good to go with one of those sets

I don't think J'r'B uses nylon in any of their suspension systems(way to stretchy).

If you want the simplest setup, have a look the Warbonnet suspension

I changed mine out and like the weight difference. For tree huggers, I used a set of ratchet straps that I got at sams, and it seems to be working fine. I have carabiners and dutch clips, but with this system have just been threading the strap through the loop on the end, and it seems to be working fine (don't have to carry any clips).

Anyone see any issue with going without any kind of clip? I figure the pressure on the loop should be the same.

Switched my suspension out with 6' tree straps, soft shackles, and whoopie slings. All from whoopieslings.com works great and lightweight. and they were at my door in just a few days.

I'm thinking about using a piece of amsteel 4-5' long for tree straps. fixed eyes at both ends (I'd have to use sticks between tree & amsteel to protect trees)

amsteel around tree by going thru fixed eye
dutch biner to other fixed eye ---> adjustable loop on whoopie sling --> fixed eye on whoopie to hammock

I'm 115lbs can use dynaglide whoopies

    thoughts anyone?

it would be a good weight savings compared to stock strap suspension on WBBB

i've been using 7/64ths amsteel as tree straps. bowline on both sides, aluminum arrow shaft at 3" length for the toggle. whoopies to the 1.1 single Traveler net me with total hammock, suspension, toggle weight of 9.1 ounces -the amsteel at the tree hasnt seemed to cause any damage, but NOTE: use metal toggles. wood or plastic could snap at the pressure of whoopie/to/whoopie contact. it would be like crossing the streams. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyaLZHiJJnE

I got an all-in-one system from whoopieslings.com. They came really quick and the whole system is super easy to use and was simple to attach to my hammock. If you don't want the all-in-one, he's also got the parts separately so you could pick and choose.
