Oh, okay. So you didn't use seam sealer. I don't think I want to tape it. I'm pretty sure that I should seal it from the inside, but I'm going to wait to hear from Joe. He must be busy on everyone else's tarps. lol He usually gets back to me quicker.
I actually ordered this same dimension tarp from Joe yesterday. The wait isn't killing me yet because I know I still have several weeks before I'll see it. I can't wait to see some of your picures though....
Sorry Correction... Tape came from Hyperlightmountaingear.com.... so many companies to remember...

I don't have a Cuben fiber tarp, but I have a couple silnylon tarps. I use the little brush that comes with the Sil-Net tube to apply the sealant. I apply it to the outer surface of the seam. Before I apply the sealer, I lay out the tarp on the floor and use masking tape to limit the area where the sealant will be applied. After the sealant is cured, pull of the tape (slowly and carefully) and you will have a much prettier seam. At that point you can dust with talcum powder if you want but I have never done that.
I have had my ZPacks cuben tarp for about five months. It is a great piece of gear. I used on Roan Mtn in January. Low of 1.8 degrees, 40 mph winds and about 3–4 foot of snow on the ground. No problem. It held up as well as any other tarp. Of course being cuben it did not stretch and sag
