Gregory has relocated its headquarters to Salt Lake City, about 20 miles from my house. I called them, and they have plenty of them available. Just need a retailer to purchase them. I picked mine up at GanderMountain - if you watch closely, they have $5 off every $50 dollars, and free shipping. Out the door, I got it for under $150.

The Z55 is my favorite pack I own. Got it around $100 at an REI outlet sale several years ago.

I'd have to check in the gear closet, but I think I still have a Z55 large in there some where. I used it a few times, but moved on to something else (Flash 65 first and most lately a ULA Circuit). I had hung on to it as a spare, but might part with it.

I even have one of the original G44's that I kept since my Daughter liked it.

I also LOVE my Z55. Best of all the packs I own. If you can get ahold of it I highly recommend it.

I've had a ULA Catalyst for sale for months. It blows the Gregory away, larger, lighter and more comfortable.

To each their own. Why is your pack taking so long to sell? ULA seems like a very popular brand...

Entropy, I looked at the ULA packs when I bought the Gregory. The Z55 is heavier (by close to 2lbs for the large, I believe), but it felt lighter on my back, and that's all I care about, not what it looks like on a spreadsheet. It will also hold quite a bit more weight if you get into a situation where you need to carry more than usual because of the stiffnes of the load sheet. Even so, my pack weight with food and water is usually around 16lbs.

I would definitely try them both on before you buy either if you get the chance.

I think it might have something to do with the size of the pack and a request for pictures of a repair made to the pack being unanswered.

    Draw your own conclusions.
