A "Hennessy Clone" isn't a clone if it isn't bottom entry, people have been lying on the diagonal in hammocks for centuries.

hh has a patent on the orientation of the pull tabs though, it could still infringe on the asym patent.

I would add my comments as a business owner...machine shop, not hammocking oriented, unless you count the buckles I am working on...that you are doing a good job of being upfront with all this information. I agree with Dutch in that the other manufacturers should be contracting you for your sewing services. I cant imagine there is a patent on any of the current types of cat tarps or there would have already have been some conversation to that effect.

I am eagerly awaiting the appearance of the cathedral tarp! Was almost ready to order an 8 x 10 but now that a larger one is coming...
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
Time heals all wounds...but it usually leaves a pretty big scar.

    Re: rstms

I believe that at this point in time, applying a catenary curve to a product isn't patentable. It has been used by many manufacturers for many years (myself included), and as such, is public domain. Any one company who would try to patent this idea would hopefully meet stiff resistance in regards to their patent application from the consortium of companies who apply them in their outdoor gear.
