Anyone tried to hang the hammock in Niteize Figure 9 Rope Tightener?

Now, i´m talking about the Niteize BIG Figure 9 Rope Tightener.
Load Limit 300 lbs/ 136 Kg.

I'm so tired of the bowline adjustments.
But if you use the Figure 9 with the "fixed end system",
it must be a dream, or?

I use the small ones for my tarp, at all 6 tie points. Very very fast hook up. SO, I believe that they would also be good for tieing on your hammock. I already have the ring buckle attachment & am happy with that, but if I ever change, the big 9s are what I'll go with.
For the 9s, to adjust slack in a tarp (or hammock?) takes seconds. And take down would IMHO be a bit quicker than (at least my version of) the ring buckles. My one concern with them is the way the wedge grips the end of the rope, there may be some abrasion long term, esp with the weight / force we put on when hanging.

The 9s cut my tarp set up time by at least 25%. They are permanently attached to the tarp & have withstood 50+ MPH gusts, so seem sturdy enough.

I wouldn't hang my hammock with them. 300lb rating. NO way. Use crash pads if you try them. Cinch buckles are a much better option. http://www.onrope1.com/store/index.p...d=118&parent=4
Add webbing and you have a strong, super quick adjustment suspension system.

Clamcleat who makes those linelok tensioners has a few rope tensioners that should in theory do the job. They aren't cheap though. It looks to be about $10-20 each. The CL253, 230, 223 (questionable), 234, 203W/S2 (plastic version of 230), all look to on paper work to hang a hammock. I decided to go with the much cheaper buckles after all the research I did into these things. They all need a rope in a specific size range. Most of which are a bit thicker/heaver than would be really be needed. These things are also fairly hard to source it seems.

The figure 9 doesn't look too trustworthy to me. I think people have some reports of them working ok, but also I seem to remember a failure of one (or maybe this was the mini figure 9). Try it and see, over a mattress or something if you wanna be smart about it.

I have been using the large Niteize Figure-9's for a few months now. Have loaded them with over 400lbs in my hammock. No problems whatsoever.
They are great.

It is really a good read if you want to explore inovative suspensions. I lifted 900 pounds with a lg figure 9 and the only problem was the teeth cut into the rope a little.

I used a different way of wrapping the hitch that Warbonnetguy came up with.

It is just as easy. There was some question about the consistancy of the quality and you may get a bad one. I use homemade ones on my HH and love them. They are much lighter and don't have the abrasive V with the teeth.

I realize that these cleats never really turned out to be popular, but I've been using them with no detrimental effects. I don't go camping as much as I should, but I probably have 5 to 10 nights worth of time on them with no signs of rope wear or cleat damage. As mentioned in another thread (go waaaay back in time) the individual posts may show a bit of twist after hanging but it does not appear to compromise the cleat itself. Over time, I suppose this could be a fatigue point but I feel confident that I will not get dumped on my head with these.

I think i will have a go at the Niteize BIG Figure 9.
(Im a small guy, weights only around 65 Kg).

And if i put in the down pillows in the pockets of my Clark NA,
i have a built in crash pad

Seems like the BIG figure 9 is fairly new, can´t find them för sale anywhere.
