OK, I finally got some more pics. I also made a stronger grab handle for above the door. The original handle with the mod I did was fine, but I like brushed aluminum. What can I say? I'm a machinist.

Here's a shot of the handle(roughly fitted, still needs polishing and a ring to attach the hammock. Paracord works for now)

    All tucked away

The door catch for the rear doors. I ran the cord under the molding.

After polishing, anodizing red, and some red Amsteel it should look really clean.

Is it a cargo van? If so, that's easy...the cross member over the rear doors is, in essence, a roll bar, and hell for stout. Drill a hole where you need it, clip a 'biner in, and you're good to go.

On the front end, the hard points where the shoulder straps attach are plenty strong, or for that matter, anywhere on that pillar, if you need the height.

I used to sleep in my minivan in highschool during lunch back in the day when I was a polyphasic sleeper. Man I wish I knew what I know now! That would have been awesome, stuck with a car now, but the moment I have a choice for what vehicle I would like I know what I am choosing!

I've given this a try in my '71 vw bus a couple of times with varying degrees of success. I'll have to snap a pic next time I try it out.

Just gave my Jeep to my nephew for his wife and new baby and remembered this thread so needless to say I'll be looking at Suburbans in the morning I first looked at hammocks as a way to get me hiking again cause I can't sleep on the ground due to my back found out the hammock was more much more comfy than my "prescription" mattress so I sleep in the hammock full time and now I'm looking to buy a suburban so if needed on road trips I can sleep nice and comfy all this cause I someone recommended I try a hammock since I could not sleep in a tent anymore on that recommendation I found Shugs videos a few months ago he made it look so comfy I had to try it out and now look where I'm at 3 hammocks a superfly thread injecting and all sorts of new gear
