    New Speer

Decided to try out a Speer hammock so I ordered one this weekend! Hope to have it in time for my BSF trip in 2 weeks. This is actually for my son, but he's not big enough to argue, yet! Will provide pics of the hammock and trip.

BTW: I also ordered a Black MacCat deluxe. Rain, sleet, hail, snow, or wind,I should be covered. Yea, intended...

Ordered yesterday. Just got an e-mail stating that the hammock will ship TOMORROW. Now that's what I call customer service. Great company!!!

What characteristics in the Speer led you to ordering one?

    Hey Mule,

    A few things:
    1. This is going to be my son's set up. I liked the ability to use or not use the bug net. Will allow me to keep an eye on my son and adjust things as needed.

    2. Already comes with webbing, I just need to add buckles. If anyone knows of a reason why the stock webbing would not work let me know?

3.Weight. 17oz for hammock and straps. 21.2 oz with bug net.....

    5. Made in USA(southern I might add) !

    7. O, I don't sew............

Sounds like good reasons all around. That is awfully light and, hey, it's made by Ed. Thanks

My favorite, a Claytor weighs 2.5 pounds for the hammock with bugnet, no tarp! Wow

I got a real "sore spot" with Claytor. I would however purchase one from an individual. Would like to try one out....
