Mid-April in the mountains of New Hampshire

I live in S. Florida and have a vacation place in the White's. It sounds like this will be your first trip up there. If so, you'l love it and it won't be your last (if you heed the posts here). Going from Florida to N.H. will be like going to another planet - take your space suit!

Snow this time of year can soften after a couple of warmer days then freeze solid again. It's hard to know whether to take snowshoes or crampons, and that can change on the same hike as elevation and exposure varies!

Go prepared and you will have a great time. I wish were going

My wife and I will be hanging at Pawtuckaway State Park in mid-April and I expect the night to be cold. Plan for 30-40 degrees. I'm bringing my UQ, my 15 degree Western Mountaineering bag, and a light fleece to put underneath me. I've tested this rig to about 25 degrees.
