I'd tell you but then we would have to kill ya. Much easier to join the club and worth it for the "secret" info and support of this site. I spent more money for lunch today than to join HF for three years worth.
So Permethrin is not good for cats when wet, how about dogs and how about when dry for both? Don't want my neighbors coming after me with torches and pitch forks if their cats fall dead...SURE don't want to get my doggies sick.
Permethrin can be found in Dog Shampoos, but when wet, is HIGHLY toxic to cats...
1% permethrin cream is used topically for humans to combat lice, .5% cream for scabies...

To clarify: the Sawyer kit does not dunk the items to be treated. It uses a modest amount of product in a large ziploc bag, and relies on capillary action to dampen (not soak) the items, which are then hung to dry (there is no drippage). Sawyer provides plastic gloves with the kit, and is emphatic about their use, and not allowing wet product to contact skin.

Searching Tractor Supply I come up with a lot of products but no Sawyers.
What would you recommend I use??

I'm in the same boat and looking myself.

Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet.

The Sawyer site says that Cabela's and Bass Pro both have it. Wonder if that extends to the Canadian sites as well.

yes there are tons of products at that site. But they really don't give(or I can't find) any specifications to speak of as far as the percentage of permethrin. A few of the products don't even tell what the insecticide is. I get Permethrin from TSC, but for spraying my backyard.
I would also love to use one of these products diluted. It would save a ton of money. But my concern is – as has already been mentioned – what else is in the product besides the permethrin. Compared to the Sawyers products. Which are clearly meant to be used by humans on their clothing.
I looked at the label of my sawyer product. It said 99.5% inert. But I don't think it said anything about what the inert products were. However, we do know that the product is meant to be used on human clothing and probably with no damage to the clothing.
I'm also concerned about odors. Quite a few of the permethrin products I have used over the years to spray my backyard and porches have had a pretty noticeable smell for a few hours after I did the spraying. Also, some of the products form a white foam when they hit the ground. I'm thinking I did not notice any of this with the Sawyer product when I sprayed it on the clothing.
Is all of the above already covered in one of these other above threads for which links have been provided?
PapaSmurf, The PBI Gordon contains petroleum distillates. Is there much odor and does it last long after drying? ( sorry if you have already answered this )
