I think this is what I was referring to in the top right photo.
It looks like a leaning rectangle instead of having all 90 degree corners.
At least that is the way I understood it....

Thanks. I get it now. It's a way of moving the side tie-out points away from the ends so they line up better with the hammock tie-out points. I have accomplished something similar by changing the propotion of length to width of the tarp. I actually shortened the tarp to 8' 6" to make the tieout point line up with the hammock better, thus achieving marginally better coverage by making the tarp smaller.
