    Totally understood, MrClean.

As it stands now, my intention is to see how it plays out through tomorrow. I've already scheduled tomorrow off, so I plan on rolling out there and tracking the conditions onsite. If it doesn't look good, we can call it and schedule for another time.

The advantage we'll have with car camping is that if it just gets too cold/windy...breaking down and rolling out won't be that difficult.

    Wind

The temps will be OK I think. The trick will to find shelter from the wind. It should calm down some but will still be there.
    Getting ready to load firewood.

In some earlier posts it sounded like the plan may be to camp farther down the trail Saturday night.

With little snow and no water sources, how are you guys planning your water for Saturday evening and Saturday night (quantity & freezing)?

it's supposed to be a sunny 36 friday, 21 friday night, and 46 on Saturday with 10-20 mph west winds throughout. I'm going to have a 2 qt soft sided canteen under the tarp with me in hopes that doesn't freeze solid so I can make hot drink Saturday morning in addition to a couple other canteens for Friday's drinking & cooking water.

I plan on bringing a couple of gallons and keeping them in the car...usually don't have too much issues with the water freezing in the car overnight if the temps during the day get above freezing.

3" of snow and blizzard winds with temps at 12 degrees in St.Louis tonight. I am still trying to fly home tonight from Chicago O'hare and finish packing. It has been snowing 1" per hour since noon...

I plan to depart around noon, that should put me there about 3:30. Should provide time to find the best available spot out of the wind.

For those that have been there, how much shelter from the wind will we find? Any lee side of hill or enough timber to slow the wind?
