    Weather

Just checked weather.com's 10 day forecast for Mt. Rogers. In my experience, the weather has ALWAYS been worse than what they forecast. It goes out to Next Friday and calling for snow just about everyday next week with lots of wind. Highs/Lows ~low40/~low 20. Should be Cold, uhm I mean interesting.

yep... we'll need to keep a check on the weather as the week end approaches.
if there seems to be concern about the park roads & the rangers closing trail heads, we'll just give them a call next week.

Thumbs up It just keeps getting better.

Hammockforum.net First Annual Winter Hang Out just gets better….Read on fellow tree hangers…

Jacks ‘R’ Better LLC is sponsoring a Saturday evening Gear Give-A-Way and raffle for the benefit of WWW.Whiteblaze.net and WWW.Hammockforum.net. 100 percent of Proceeds will go to Attroll for unspecified support, as he sees fit, of these two great forums.

Here is the deal and sampling of the donated prizes.

First you have to come to the Mount Roger’s Winter Hang Out, January 26, 27 & 28, 2007… Tickets will only be sold to those who make the trip… And no, you can’t buy for your friends back home and in bed with the flu. You don’t have to stay, but you have to make the trip. Tickets are $10 each or three for $20…. Please have exact bills, as money weighs too much to carry more than necessary.

At the raffle we will draw tickets for the prizes… If you are not there your name better be on the ticket, or we move on to selecting another winner…(Sure we will mail it to ya)…. And No, I’m not bringing the pencil…That is the problem of anyone who is leaving early… so day trippers, hammock hanging wannabees, BYOP…. When it is time for the grand prize all the tickets go back in the pot (multi use) so everyone has an equal chance at that prize also.

    Prizes include:
    JRB Micro Biners, five pairs
    JRB STLs, three sets
JRB compression sacks, one of every color.
    JRB JGH/PC
    JRB Tarp
From the vault, three sets of Original, still in the packaging, extremely rare, Not for Sale anywhere in years….Python Skins ( Heck, these are so sought after and valuable I guess we will put all the earlier ticket winners back in the pot for the drawing on these with the Grand prize)

Grand Prize is a JRB Stealth quilt…

Not withstanding the true market value of the not otherwise available, nearly extinct Python Skins….That is over $500 in prizes…Hope that sweetens the motivation for you Hammock Hangers to Join your fellow forum members for the Forums Premiere Hang Out.

    See You There!

Crap - now I have to tell the AF that I can't deploy so I can get some new JRB gear.

That's a great promotion, Pan...thanks for helping to get folks out!

Actually, I just found out today that I'm probably not leaving for a while so I might be able to make it after all. Still playing it by ear.
