I'm moving that weekend. Bummer. I honestly don't think the other half would be thrilled with the idea, seeing a few weeks later I'm leaving for 6 months. You all have FUN!!!!

Lexington is only about an hour or so from me. I would be up for the detour. It would be worth it to have some company.

FYI - I invited the folks at Rock's forum...bird dog says he's gonna try to make it.

Anyone have any heartburn if I invite the WB crowd? I figure even if we get a few tenters, the company will be nice and they'll question our methods like Pan was talking about earlier.

You folks who know the area - have we decided on a campsite and meeting place yet?

I'm familiar with the site HOI suggested, just past the Wise shelter - It's a nice spot and pretty hard to miss. Considering the trail crosses a bridge just before this site - kinda high above the creek, too - saying you missed the campsite would be equivalent to saying you took a nice cold bath I guess I'd vote for there or at the shelter itself.

i agree w/ headchange4u, the more the merrier. we may end up w/ a convert or two.
i`ll be glad to go w/ which ever camp area we end up at, but i posted a picture of a group of trees just a stones throw below the shelter... on the left if your going down hill & toward the creek & bridge.
the picture`s in the hammock landscape gallery, under wise shelter trees.
i`m sure there will be a few good spots to choose from. of course it`ll be good to see how protected from the wind some of these spots will be.
i suspect we`ll be easy enough to find anyway, for those coming in later.
one thing to keep in mind is that the roads leading in to the parking area could be a challenge... mabey.

A third the more the merrier. I like checking out other people's setups hammock or tent. Maybe we can convert a few along the way.

I'm in for where ever you guys choose. Maybe we chould really test and pick a spot not sheltered from the wind.

Maybe I should of put a smiley or something. Unless it is seasonably warm and 60 I see myself picking a good spot.
