Welcome! I'm from the west GA area. I'll have to post a pic of my smoker when I get home from work!
BigBamaGuy: CITY CAFE!!, omg i'm drooling. I'm from the Hillcrest Area. Southside almost in Moundville. Due to weather we've postponed our trip and I'm going to take my girlfriend home to meet the parents. Which means City Cafe on friday! Which is chicken liver day! haha I love chicken livers! And maybe i'll bring her by Dreamland, too.
Shug: That's impressive AND portable! Looks like you don't half *** your BBQ!
Hey Space Cadet.
So you are in Tucker. My wife and I lived across the street in Stone Mountain for 10 years. Now in northeast GA where there seems to be a BBQ joint on every other corner. Love 'em all!
Welcome again,
Dave
Hey Space Cadet! Welcome Neighbor!I am only 90miles south of Atlanta!
There seems to be a rapidly growing GA group here (with me being one of the newer ones). All of this BBQ talk has got me thinking about Fat Matt's ... might have to try to sneak away from work tomorrow.
Ft. Yargo is a good spot. There are numerous places in the NE corner of the state that are fairly close. I have been up to Tallulah Gorge a handful of times. Black Top Mountain is also nice. Hard Labor Creek is another state park not too far from Atlanta.
Welcome again,
STinGa

I second camping in NE GA. Chattooga River area has lots. Just starting to explore that area. Have made a couple of day hikes around there to check things out.
Panther Creek has several good areas.
Just north of Dahlanega or Cleveland has good spots.

Hello from Rome, Ga!
Y'all got me thinking about some barbecue and Brunswick stew and it's 1:45am! Might have to make a run over to Two Brothers BBQ in Ball Ground or down to Fresh Air BBQ in Macon....nothing better than some slow smoked pork and a cold bourbon and Coke (easy on the Coke) while you're relaxing in a hammock.
Welcome to the hammock life!
I love cooking on the smoker
a little feast I made..
gotta get a bunch of GA/AL people together & have a feast

Moundville is a nice area, I had a house out where University and McFarland split in the Coaling area.
Enjoy the Cafe......I was there last friday, had to take the signifigant other there while we were on our way to New Orleans. It had been almost 5 years since I was there and the staff still recognized me, don't know whether thats good or bad but the food was still wonderful and cheap!!!!!!!!! Make sure you take her to the old Dreamland not the one they have built in Northport.........
