    Utah: Life Elevated

I don't think that the marketing department of the state tourism office was thinking about hammocks when they came up with that slogan, but it really works for those of us that have decided to ditch the dirt and hang free.

I'm fairly new to hammocking and have been a HF stalker until tonight when I decided it was time to officially join the club.

Let's hear a shout out from hangers that are currently living in Utah! I'd love to share notes and favorite spots.

Welcome to HF. I believe we might be able to help each other with spots to hang as the season progresses. I'm hopping the border north this weekend for a couple days. I like their trees too.

Stalker? Funny but I would say the accepted term is lurker. Now that I look at them both I don't know which is worse.

Well anyhow welcome to the forum.

Welcome from another Utah hanger. I just started using a hammock last summer. I primarily use mine on river rafting trips in Utah & Idaho, but I'm looking forward to trying it out on some car camping this summer. We seem to have a fair number of Utah folks on HF now..... maybe we can organize a group hang sometime?????

Welcome to the forum tygr! I don't live in UT, but have had the good fortune to hang there several times. I actually spent my undergraduate geology field camp in Park City, mapping the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains. Awesome place!

You know I have said it before but as many folks from UT as there is getting to be y'all really should organize as hang. I am coming down to hike with one of you this summer for sure but a full on hang would be great. Just saying......

Hey Tygr, where on the Wasatch front do you live? I used to live in Layton years ago. Now I only get to visit on occasion.

Favorite spots? Man, so many! Christmas Meadows or Mirror lake and many other places in the High Uintas! Various places in the Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons ( I am looking at pictures on my wall right now of me in shorts and shirtless at Lake Blanche, at the foot of Dromedary and Sundial Peaks in July, with a ton of snow still on the ground. And of course Mt. Timpanegos east of Provo and on and on, ad infinitum! Boy do I miss Utah and AZ! And if all that is not enough, SLC/Ogden is only 4 or 5 hours from the Wind Rivers in WY! Envy!
