    Howdy from Minnesota

New Guy here, as in, I have only been browsing the forum for a few days.

    Very cool site and community.

I am currently stationed in Forest Lake, MN. Lived my whole life somewhere near the twin cities.

BWCA is my most frequented adventure land. Usually get up there 2-4 times a year.

I've done a little bit of hammock camping in the last couple years. started with a piece of Tyvek, and when that wore out and failed, Tied up a simple gathered end deal with a piece of nylon I had laying around.

I've got a thread injector, and enjoy using it.

Always loved cordage. 1/8" amsteel was added to the arsenal last year. nice fiber.

I'm a DIY guy to the core.

I'm learning a lot about nice, light, efficient hang systems already on this site. I whipped up a test setup yesterday, and will share some pics sometime soon.

Haven't constructed a bug net, or a tarp system for a hammock yet, but I am looking forward to doing so very soon.

I am not an ultralight guy, but I do like to travel light. my fishing gear usually makes up a decent percentage of my carry weight.

Looking forward to meeting some more cool like minded folks here, and sharing ideas and stories.

(Also, I make some serious flashlights if anyone is into that)

    -Tom
