Just swapped over to whoopies today on the blackbird. Easy as to do.

I did have straps and rings which worked great, no issues at all. Just wanted the whoopies to see how they went.

I think that straps and rings would be easier. Wrap the tree and adjust, as with the slings you have hitch, toggle and then the same adjustment as straps.

I think I just like they way the whoopie set-up looks.

Here is how I did it

    Hey.

I'm always interested in faster, lighter for camping. ATM I've got a Warbonnet with two 50g climbing binners.

I was looking at the a couple of videos on woopie slings and I cam up with an idea. Probably a stupid idea but ... well here goes:

Can I just avoid using binners altogether? Just loop the webbing that comes with my warbonnet through itself and attach it to the buckles on the WB. Would that work?... well? What are the advantages/disadvantages?

I was also looking at the infamous dutch clips. They seem like a good way to go too.

    Thanks in advance,

    M

Yeah, that'll work. But it seems it would be a PITA. Especially setting up in the rain, dark etc. Plus you'd have to take the straps completely off each time you setup and took down. I use Camp Nanos, an ounce each. Plus they serve double duty to hang stuff off my pack if need be. I've tried whoopies a couple of times, their just not for me. I like to just wrap the strap, clip the biner, done. Thats what works for me.
It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit

Yeah I was wondering about the PITA factor. Quick setup is one of my favorite things about my hammock. I can usually have it set up in under 5mins.

I think I may order the Dutch clips though. They're just 24g and super easy to set up. I just hate the idea of ordering something from another country that's under 15$. Weird I know but I'm afraid of what the shipping will cost me. (and I hate waiting... )

    Optimator,

What size Camp Nanos were you using. Just got my WBBB with straps and needing some biners for it.
