Absolutely! I thought to leave the core on the first one and it snagged and snarled when drawing the sliding loop part. I had to pull it out from the middle. I went ahead and pulled the core from the 2nd one before I started.
As far as tying knots in the core as stitching, I believe some of the surgery type knots will hold. I'll report to everyone as time goes.

I didnt find it in the few spools Ive gone through so far. But did in the last one. 7/64.
Again, it serves no structural purpose, if it gets in your way, pull it out.

Glad this was asked as I got 100' of 7/64" in today. At first I thought I had ordered the wrong line. Then I thought I'd search HF and boom here's the answer. Thanks folks!

do you know what the tracer thread is made out of, i pulled the threads out of my amsteel and the stuff seems pretty dang strong, thought it might work good if i had some hand sewing to do on some gear and didn't want anything to come apart
