    Clark Question

Hello all, I'm a happy blackbird owner but am considering purchasing a clark with a weathershield as a spare hammock (for girlfriend) and to use while winter camping. I've got 2 questions:
    1) What are the big differences between the NX-150 and the NA (other than the poles and weight
    2) Does it matter which end you sleep in the clark? I was thinking if I could sleep with the pockets under my legs I would have a nice flat place to hang my 3/4 underquilt and could use the pockets to keep my legs warm

The NX of the CJH denotes a larger/wider hammock area. The NX will have more shoulder room than the NA otherwise they are the same hammock minus the poles. As far as sleeping in the hammock, I don't know if I pack enough gear to fill the pockets so my legs would get cold if I slept opposite the design. I use a section of WW Blue camp mat material that is the length of my legs from bend of knee to heal + 2".

I looked at the NA first, but decided to go with the NX model because of the spreader bars. The mosquito netting is held in place by the bars on the NX, on the NA it is held by shock cord attached to the tarp or a separate ridgeline.

    +1 on Bigbamaguy's comments.

The NX series fwwls cavernous when compared to my HH because of the spreader poles.

As for sleeping opposite the "normal" lay, I have never tried it. It would negate several of the conveniences (adjusting the net and the weathershield for the climate) but I believe that the body is symmetrical so it would be worth a try.

    Jsaults is right

Also the grab loop and the internal pockets would be at the wrong end. Since I added a peak-bag to that loop all my other toys and stuff would be a long way away also.
