using pe foam glued together i made a pad thats 23" x 60" x 1/2" going to test it out next weekend weather man says low is 45. This pad is much more flexable then a blue pad and I figure should give as good or better results and it only weighs 9 oz.

How small can you get it rolled down to? You should be sweating with that thick of a pad at 45 degrees. I like the idea, though. Let us know how it goes for ya!
have it rolled up to 11 1/2" tall and 8"diameter roll

Wow, not bad at all! Nice job!
I'll be interested to see how this works as well. Sounds like it packs pretty small for a pad. Nice.
If it works, you should post a DIY thread!
Those who expect disappointment are never disappointed.
I definitely want to hear more about this!

The rolled size is impressive, what kind of glue did you use? Sounds like a great idea.

ok here is my report pad preformed great with some exceptions it needed to be wider as my shoulders got chilled and a little longer would have been nice as my head wasnt on it. the low was 42 so not bad for 9 oz. next test will be with a bigger one. I think somewhere in the 46 by 72 range. i think it could have been a bit thinner and been fine might try 1/4 in this time.
