Wally World Cord Locs

I was in my local Wally World and of course I had to go through the camping section. I noticed they had little boxes of cord locks. A pack of 4 was only 58 cents. The eliptical shape and nice size too. That is the cheapest I have seen them.

Right next to them were little boxes of zipper pulls. Also .58 for 4.

Now if I could just find that dollar fabric bin everybody keeps talking about

Those are the cord locks I use. Been working great for me. Unfortunately the lost city of cheap fabric only exists in a very few places.

I have been using those cordlocks on my DIY stuff sacks for a while now. Cheap and work great. I have found the magical dollar bin fabric at a few stores, but never any nylon in them.

When i visited my daughter in Jacksonville, FL a while back her husband (he is in the Navy) took me to the WalMart by thier house and they had some really lightweight i think nylon in a dark gray. I got a few yards and they had 2 more bolts of it. Wish i had gotten more now. It could have been Sil but i don't know how to tell the difference. All i know is it is thinner and lighter than the ripstop nylon i get at the fabric store (Hancock Fabrics).

58 cents?! I got ripped off! Here I thought I was getting a good deal at 84 cents. I guess everything's more expensive in NY. These also work great for me...plus I don't have to wait for shipping!

It seems to be getting harder and harder to find Wal-Mart stores that even carry fabrics. On a recent road trip I went in several and in all only found one bolt of black rip-stop nylon at 5 yds for $5. No other nylon and no silnylon at all.

I buy those cord locks and zipper pull ends, too!

I saw the cord locks at my walmart as well. i didnt even need them but i got them anyway lol

I work for an apartment complex here in Iowa, I spend most every morning walking grounds picking up after the fine folks who the confuse the parking lot with the trash cans. I often will find torn backpacks, bags, and other goodies in the dumpster, I have got a lot of free buckles zipper pulls and cord locks that way if you want to get really cheap

Many of the Wallmarts have phased out the fabric department. I did find some heavy coated camo and some light weight grey ripstop a few months ago that I have used for making stuff bags as I learn how to sew crooked seams. I also use their lock cords and zipper pulls
