DIY?? DIY is the path to the Dark Side!

    Snakskins lead to suspensions...

    Suspensions lead to homemade hammocks...

    Homemade hammocks lead to quilts...

    Quilts lead to warm hammocks...

    Warm hammocks lead to tarps...

    Tarps lead to CAT tarps...

Jeezus, man....that might make you Sith Lord! Right up there with Jeff!

In the last few days, I've made a hammock, a set of slapstraps, 95% of a cat tarp, and about a half a pack....and I thought I was doing well!

    Color me impressed!

Can I be your sewing machine salesman. I can't wait till I get my sewing machine. I will most likely have it worn out in a year.

Yep - I use the one my wife's grandmother bought for my wife when she was younger. Been with my wife since high school and the only time I ever saw it was during military moves. Then I found the Hennessy, which led me to the yahoo group, and the rest is history.

Most of my projects are on the website. Lost count of the hammocks I've made. A few stuffsacks and such didn't make it onto the site. Lots of half-designed projects on random papers around the house...

I'm a bad DIY addict. My other passion is music and stereo equipment, including headphones and cables. Here's some of my DIY stuff from that arena:

    Heaphone Amp 1 Exterior

    Headphone Amp 1 Internal

    My favorite headphone amp:
    Front
    Back
    Internal

A couple of cables I made:
    Extension Cable
    Heaphone Splitter
iPod audio line out via dock connector
    Headphone recable

Let not forget my home PC.

That stuff just scratches the surface. I now have an ever growing list of hiking and camping related DIY stuff that seems to grow daily. You should see all the stove around my house.

    I am sooooo addicted.

OOh electronics don't get me started. I have made so many electronic gadgets in my past that I have LEDs for eyes. I have 3 PCs that I have built from scratch heck I own 10 complete PCs. But I am now gonna start making my own outdoor gear. Can't wait till I get my hands on a new sewing Machine. Which one I haven't decided yet but I have been looking at a bunch of them.

Why don't you DIY a sewing machine? With LEDs.

Thrift stores and Salvation Army stores sometimes have good deals on decent machines, I've heard.
