There are alot of great cottage brands out there. So how do you decide what to buy? quality, price? So far researching JRB and Hammock gear. Looking for a 15-20 rating, I am a cold sleeper and need a 3 season setup for 35-40 degree nights.

All the quilt makers are excellent and you cant go wrong. You do a pro's a con's list. Their are pro's and con's to every quilt it's really all personnel preferences. I can share with you mine but they may not at all be your. Personally I'm a Hammock Gear fan. I love the fact that they are fully customizable in color, down fill, length, width. I am also a fan of the channel suspension UQ. The draw closure and snap at the top of the burrow. IMHO I find it much easier to adjust with a channel suspension in comparison to an end suspension cause an end suspension is only adjustable from outside the hammock. However the JRB quilts can be doubled as a TQ and UQ which is a big plus if your only looking at buying one quilt. But if your looking for a set I'd go custom Hammock Gear. A 3 Season Hammock Gear with some xtra down in it should keep you nice and cozy. And lastly price compare, figure out how much you can spend and go for the best bang for you buck. But no matter which quilt you get you cant go wrong their all excellent.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
here's a lot of recent discussion with good info about TQ's

My only advice would be to go with a differential cut UQ if possible. Less fiddle factor. Lots of good cottage sources available here on the forum.

If you get the chance try to get to a hang and see what others are using. Most of us are would love the chance to show off our gear and you would have a chance to see the various choices out there. (Use pad and sleeping bag until then?)
I know how you feel - every time I start on a DIY project I want to go to another hang. Seems like I always looked at the wrong things or forgot to check out some detail.
matty - why don't you try to make the pinckney hang this weekend? there will be a lot of DIY UQ's/TQ's and i think a JRB UQ.
Certainly the fact that Adam and Jenn are in Ohio, are great people, and care about their customers had an influence in my decision to go with HammockGear. They also happen to make Quality gear, an have an amazing attention to detail.
