How long is too long, in the stuff sack?

?? If I use my 3S Incubator one weekend, can I leave it in the stuff sack until the next weekend? Or does it need to be taken out and aloud to "fluff" in between?

I can't say one way or the other ,but would ere on the side of precaution. I don't believe compression would be a problem, but more importantly would be letting body moisture dry out. Ok I did say one way or the other, only no imperical data to support said stance.

i don't think the loft would be hurt for one week, but i don't like stressing the seams for any longer than nessesary, for that reason i store all my gear [including tents in an oversized sack]

Yeah, I would pull it out to air it out, but a week shouldn't be a problem as long as it was put away dry.

Thanks all, yes put away dry. Was just wondering. I was out this past weekend, and going again this weekend. (Scouts). Then in May, I have several back to back weekends. Was just trying to get some options on it.

Personally, I would take it out for that amount of time. Seriously, how long does it take to pull out and/or stuff back in? And if there is any possibility of any remnant of body or environmental moisture in the down, I'd definitely have it out and aired ASAP!

I took it out as soon as I got back from the trip. Was just wondering for future reference.

+2. not worth the moisture havoc if you missed even just a tiny amount.

At one point I had my UQ in a stuff sack for a good month or so. Everything was fine.

    Today's high-loft down is amazing.

When I first pulled my Hammock Gear UQ and TQ out of their stuffsacks I was impressed at how much ......pressure the fill exerted when I would compress a handfull. Far better than teh 550 fill of the "old" days.

That said, I believe it is best to minimize the amount of time any down fill is stuffed. As to just how much life is lost with each compression/expansion cycle, I have no idea.
