I lived in South Florida for 26 years and one thing I don't miss is walking through the swamps. Not because of the Gators, critters or bugs. But, the pure evil that is the water moccasin. Great video and thanks for sharing.

Good job Isalander! You really captured the weekend and the beauty that is in the Richloam area. It was nice to see the river shots since the river water was up. My fav is us trudging through fr30 road ( aka Yankee swamp) water looking out for the dreaded cottonmouth. Just plain good times!

    Thumbs up

Well I enjoyed tagging along with you on that trail ... and this way I keep my feet dry! Thanks for posting that. Always happy to see what other folks have in the way of trails in their area. Mighty flat down there in Florida but mighty pretty ... love the oaks!

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

Cool report. I'm glad I don't have to tromp through the swamp. Is that something you expect, look forward to, plan for.... etc? Sorry for my ignorance.

Having never backpacked in Florida....it always intrigues me to give it a go someday. I can feel the sweat going down my gluteus maximus valley.

I finally had time to sit and watch the whole video - Wow! Islander, you're a regular pro with those videos! I really wish I could have been there.

I couldn't believe all that water on the trail which was bone dry when we hiked it last month. And the river was much higher and moving!

You guys didn't seem to be bothered too much by bugs. And I'm glad you found high ground to camp on.

Its different from any northen trip for sure. You're always welcome in the Southern Sectors Shug. Let us know and I am sure we could get a good hike & hang arranged.

Really different conditions a month later MAD777. Good times, and great hiking buddy, Richtorfla.
Me looking forward to getting out on the trail again with you sometime.
