I am actually very happy that this knot is getting so much attention. I hope folks find it useful.

It's one of my most used knots and I learned it from Terry's video. Plus, I've seen him use it in person.
If one uses a figure-eight knot instead of the overhand knot for the first knot, it will come undone much easier. If one uses a figure-eight for the second knot, the two knots do not come together and no stress is put on the first knot, (this acts as an emergency stopper only and as a grab point for loosening. The type of line one uses will likely be important with this modification but since I use good knot line (sailing braid) it works great for me. All you knot guys, try it out using 2 figure-eights instead of overhands.
Very cool thanks for the info
I love how people on this forum find a way to mod even things as basic as knots. Too cool!

Thanks, Rug. I was packing up a new windscreen wrapped around my stove today, and I tried this knot with 1/8" bungee to keep the rolled screen in place. Worked great! In the past I've used loops of bungee cord for this (ends connected with fisherman's knot), but this is much easier to fasten. I've sometimes wished for three hands so I could hold the windscreen in place with one and use the other two to stretch the bungee around it. Now I can expand the loop enough to slip it over the screen and tighten it down one-handed. When it's tight I have a 5" free tail on the bungee so I tied it just inside my stove bag. It can remain fastened there full time, which may mean my days of losing little bungee loops in the leaves are over.
More info: I tried it with 3/32" bungee and it didn't work as well. Pulling to tighten it down elongated the second knot so it remained loose. Changing the direction of the pull, placing one finger next to the knot, and holding my mouth right made it work, but it's an acquired skill. I'll stick with 1/8" bungee, which still works great, regardless of finger management and facial expression.

The first stopper knot could also be a small bowline. It gives you a little loop to pull and comes out easily no matter how tight it is pulled.
If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.
This knot is usually called an arbor knot because it is often used to tie fishing line to the arbor of a fishing reel.
This is a really useful knot.
