    No Sew

I have seen some youtube videos out there for a No sew hammock (Sheet Bend) What do you all think of the no sew option for my first DIY hammock?

I gather all my hammocks with a sheet bend. It's an excellent way to attach the suspension, as it's solid, but easy to remove if you want to re-gather or change the suspension or whatnot.

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

+1 on the sheet bend. Mine and my wife's are done that way. Just be sure to account for the amount of fabric taken up by the sheet bend, so you don't get left sort.
    Good luck,

I can't speak to the effectiveness of the hammock, but I can speak for the strength of the knot.

One time I was waterskiing, and the rope snapped. We didn't want to stop, so I tied the two halves together with a sheet bend and we used it the rest of the weekend, and two more trips before it was replaced.
