I started with ENO slap straps. Unfortunately they are heavy and stretch, especially when wet. I woke up with buttocks firmly on the ground a couple of times.

Now I suspend my hammocks with a combination of whoopie slings from whoopieslings.com and and tree straps from arrowheadequipment.webs.com. Their prices are reasonable and they ship quickly.

Now my hammock NEVER moves. I can sling it a few inches off the ground if I want with no fear.

Well I'm purty sure I just hit the confirm payment button for my new 8' Black Whoopie Slings. Probably gonna be getting rid of the ol' Slap Straps, but Im gonna do alittle more comparing in the backyard once the whoopies get here. Also ordered some paracord to make a structural ridgeline with, gonna give that a try too while I'm at it. Hopefully the paracord wont stretch to much just being used as a ridgeline. Looking at my first sure nuff hang in May at a place close by called Falling Rock. Beautiful waterfall close to home, the only downfall, the riding lawnmower someone pushed over the edge Lord knows how long ago.

You got Tree Huggers too, right?

You should be alright with paracord. It's what I'm using as my ridgeline and so far the stretch, if any, has been negligible.
