I hiked that same stretch this time last year... that really is a beautiful part of the country. That was my first trip out west and hopefully not my last.

I did that hike two years ago; this weekend actually. We entered next to Jacob Hamblin arch and turned around at the wide sandstone shelf waterfall.

I was dumb enough to do the entire hike in flip flops (about 12 miles). I could barely walk the next day.

I've got pics if you want to see... http://tw.tygr.ws/g

Wow ...what a sweet hike! Thanks for sharing that with us! The pic of the glowing tree could be a winner in most photo contests!

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

So, does the "creativity" in finding a way to hang share credit with smart advance planning in bringing along an extra 200 feet of Amsteel (just 6oz) between trees or boulders on ridges that far apart?

That pic looks like the magician cropped out the props which made the trick possible.

Fortunately, I didn't have to be THAT creative It is more a case of finding trees the right distance apart that aren't totally clogged with massive amounts of flood debris.
