    Lower entry question, issue?

Kind of an off the wall question, but is there some secret to easily open the lower opening on the HH once you are inside? I have to reach up and pull it open each time, and then pretty much fight my way out.

I guess this is the "giving birth" statements I've heard about the HH's.

lightly rub a cotton ball over the velcro, That works for me when velcro is too tenacious.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

I usually reach down with my toes and find the opening and slide my feet/legs out that way...then move down to a sitting position.

My Explorer is brand new, so I understand how 'tough' the velcro is...but not hard for me to open with my toes feet even so.

Generally I am able to open mine with my feet, figure out which side is the bottom and push with my heal or even toes.

Pretty much covers it! Once there was a little use on my Explorer UL it often pops open (the Velcro) even when I did not intend. Then just stick some toes and/or a heel out, then the other foot, sit up and drop out. It has always been a pretty easy task. But sitting (or hanging around) with my feet outside and my butt inside is never fun, especially if the hammock is suspended quite tight and my feet are above ground. That can be very tight on the legs.

mine opens extremely easy. I just lean my weight so its not tightening the velcro and I just put my feet to it and push a little.

I would hate to have to get out of the hammock in a hurry, especially when new. I bought an Explorer to play with and experienced the same issue. I also had trouble with the Velcro scratching the legs on entry and exit. It's surprising how sharp those little bits of plastic can be!

It is a new (only two hangs) Explorer Deluxe so the Velcro is pretty tenacious.

I actually was doing the heel push right at the teardrop patch on the lowest end of the velcro and my foot would just slide up the velcro. I'll probably have to mess around and find the sweet spot that puts the least amount of tension on the velcro when sitting up.

Maybe that is the issue, trying to find the opening when sitting up....

Heh, my feet often tend to find their way out the "door" in the middle of the night on their own.

Try this: place one foot on each side of the Velcro maybe half way to the end, and put some weight on your feet. Should pop right open. Mine always does any way.
