    New Chain Links from AHE

This is the perfect example of how awesome this website is. At Christmas I received an ENO onelink from my parents for hiking. I was tired of sleeping in a tent and wanted to get off the ground and I'm not much for giving large lists for Xmas. I was pumped....until I found this website. After doing some research, I found out that my Slap Staps sucked! (Thanks for convincing me by the way!)

I have never been one for modding gear but after reading all the good tips and tricks on the forums, I felt confident in making changes to my gear. I just got in my new Chain Links from AHE, Thanks Paul!!! After switching out the stock cord and heavy biners for the Chain Links and rings, I moved on to new webbing. I ordered in 10' sections of polyester webbing for tree huggers and ditched the Slap Straps. I'm a heavy guy and these things hold like a champ.

Thanks to everyone for posting such great advice and tips for bettering the experience. Now its on to the next project! Happy Hanging!

Definitely a good mod. Paul is great. How's your rig working out for you overall?
My first hammock was an ENO DN which I still use for lounging and even night time sleeping at home. Like you and I swapped out my suspension but I also cut off the different coloured side material because I wanted it a little more narrow but not as narrow as a Single Nest. This site gave me the gumption to first cut the stock cord and second to cut the material itself. Never been much of a DIY guy but this place has that effect. Have fun!

Now all you have to do is make an ajustable ridgeline to help get the sag just right and you have a wonderful three season hammock. Don't forget to look at the DIY section for bugnet plans!!!!!!!!
