Imagine the look on your wife's face when you tell her you have over 44,000' of rope coming freight for a group buy.
Surprisingly, this one didn't faze her. She said, and I paraphrase, "Oh, is that for the hammock bunch?"

My wife thinks camping involves powered sites and warm showers in the ablution blocks.
I prefer to hike into somewhere with no facilities, and even less folks to bother me.
So we dont camp together much (I have to compromise)
The look on her face when I diy and the house is a mess is a concern, as she is a clean freak, and I make a great mess, years of practice!
Add to this my camping in the back-yard, diy stoves etc, playing with fire.... Oops, I mean stove testing and so on, she puts up with a fair bit.
Thanks be to all the understanding partners. We wouldn't know what to do without you!
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives.
i am pretty much always covered in mud...
Here's an angle on this issue that makes it even more .......interesting. Try having a side business with your wife, centered on backpacking, hammock hanging and the like, when she doesn't backpack or hang!! Our relationship is a real "Shug balancing act" that teeters between sentiments of "Your crazy, I won't do that!" on her part (zipper Mod #1 four years ago) to her telling me..."I think we can sew on the doors of a WB Mamba!" There are times we don't see eye to eye....after alll she's only 5'1"......but most of the time I'm the recipient of her concessions to my idea. After 30 years of marriage and after four years of 2QZQ, we know each other even better.
And yes, I too have the gear strung up in the laundry room, the furnace room, and anywhere else that invites a spot to store gear. But then, she has the sewing room, the basement cutout room (ping pong table area) and the rest of the house!
ZQ is truly the "Queen" even if "Zipper" had nothing to do with it.
