Thanks for the info on Wilderness Logics - I went ahead and dropped the hammer on the Tad Pole tarp. Their prices are great, and thanks to your post, I see their quality is top notch too.

That's great lizzie! You won't be disappointed! I think we're going to start to see a lot more about these guys really soon. I debated about getting the tad pole but opted for slightly more size. That thing is a steal right now at $65 though! These guys are top notch for sure!

    Sealer?

I'm eyeing that tadpole too after seeing this post. On their website it says "SilNet Sealer not included." I'm new to all this so I have no idea what that is. I am guessing it is some kind of sealant that is used to waterproof the seams? Can anyone shed any light?

That's exactly right. At the seams where the needle goes through it creates a bunch of little holes that have to be sealed with some sort of sealant to keep it from letting little bits of water in. In a light rain, it's not amazingly critical, but I wouldn't risk it. Go ahead and order it from wilderness logics along with the tarp. Their price is as good as anybody's, so go ahead and save on combined shipping. If you pick up that plus a couple of other small accessories to put your total up to $75, you get free shipping, so it's totally worth it. Go for it! You won't be disappointed!

p.s. I don't mean to sound like a salesman for these guys, but I've been amazingly satisfied with the product and impressed with the serviced. Marty even pm'd me today to make sure I was satisfied with the tarp and received my birthday gifts. Very nice.

Great pics of the big daddy> i am concidering a big daddy tarp with side pulls. for the price it can't be beat.

i have a ogee tarp right now and lov it but like the setup of a cat cut tarp like the maccat or this one. this is less thn a maccat deluxe and is about the same coverage.

i may have to order one. I wonder how this tarp would work with Grizzbeaks? i assume it wouldwork well.

thats the good thing about grizzbeaks . they work on tons of tarps I even say grizz use them on a stock hennessy tarp . but I believe the big daddy cant be beat it has incrediblecoverage for the price.
Dale Gribble: I'm thinking, "new hammock." For me, laying and swaying in a hammock is like a steady morphine drip without the risk of renal failure.

Definitely highly recommend it. I haven't used any of the tarps by the other venders here, but I sure do love the big daddy. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
