Hello all, I am Jacob from Boone NC. I have been wanting a hammock for about a year now, but since I am a student, I dont have the expendable income to go buy one. I have lurked for a few days and found some plans that I want to try out and that I will try as soon as exams are over.
Thanks for everyone who has posted in the DIY section. I have seen a lot of really sweet stuff in there that has given me some awesome ideas.

Thanks flatline. My parents have recently relocated to Winston-Salem. Where would you recommend that I get the materials to make my hammock from? I know there are 2 Hancock Fabric's stores in Winston and from what I have read, they have 1.9 oz ripstop at most of them. Is this going to be my best bet for me?

Howdy Jacob! Yes you can get 1.9 ripstop from Hancock Fabrics at the Reynolda Manor location in Winston-Salem. I think that would be a good spot to try, although there are some good deals on 1.1 and 1.7 ripstop online here. I'm sure if you ask in the DIY section, folks will be able to hook you up.
