Enjoyed a great weekend with a few fellow forum members from Nova Scotia (dragonfly_hiker, storm1, rolandspear & JB) at Kejimkujik National Park; my first hang of the 2011 season.

Overall, the weather was better than last year's outing; the temperature dipped on both nights well below freezing. I think everybody in the group had some new piece of gear that they tried out. Personally my -7C sleeping bag was borderline / not enough for portions of the overnight. Luckily the car wasn't too far where the additional insulation was in the trunk.

We were able to log over 10km of hiking along two lesser used trails. Spring time thaw was taking a little longer and most other trails had some kind of flooding / tree damage along the trail.

I was able to try out the dehydrated rice/lentil meal that was featured on BF5's video a few weeks ago (yum!).

Now I look forward at starting a DIY underquilt as soon as Roland puts in his order of down for his project
