Alright so... I was thinking. With the ENO DryFly you dont really have a porch mode option. I'm seriously considering the Chinook 12x10. Thanks so much for the help everyone. Really.

+1 on the wilderness logics tarps. The quality and prices are great.The larger one (the big daddy) is what I have and it $85 shipped. Check out my thread about it. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=31615 They also have a tarp called the tadpole for $65 that's a little smaller, but still bigger than the macat micro. If you have a hard budget you might go with the chinook. I don't own one, but people here love them.

Ooooo. The Big Daddy is where its at. 85$ is a little more than I wanted to spend but its over 50% less weight than the Chinook. Any other idea's? Its now officially between the Chinook (If I decide to be cheap) and the Wilderness Logics. For my first experience with this forum this is freakin awesome.

I recently got the guide gear 12' x 12'. Its nice for $20. For full 4 season coverage, that and the chinook are the best low cost options. For a smaller tarp, I can contest that the dry fly work great for big papi in the rain in febuary and warbonnets edge at $85 may be a option as well. You also have the option of buying the door kit later down the line.

I was between the wilderness logics tarp too, and will pick one up for summer.. but I like the rectangle so I can makeshift doors when needed.

If you are open to sewing your own tarp, an 8x10 rectangular tarp is pretty easy to make. You need around 5 1/3 lineal yards of 60" wide silnylon and some guyline sting (I use kite string). Will weigh 12-16 oz. with guylines and stuffsack. Instructions and supplies can be found on this site. Best of luck.

Good choice on the Chinook. I have a 12x9.5 and it is solid. I plan to use it for my Winter tarp because I can fold in the ends like doors and bring it all the way to the ground. For Summer I like my Noah Tarp 9. So easy to set up because all you need are two trees and two stakes. Been in huge rain storms in both and never even got water down my suspension lines.

For me.I love my Chinnocks....the green one is my summer tarp... the tan one is my fall and winter tarp.

They fit in a set of Hennessy snake skins and like said. Can be set up. With doors on both ends......
