Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome!!! I can't wait to get started on my first hammock! First step though is getting a sewing machine..... I have a feeling this is about to get a bit expensive, but I can't wait! I've watched the Shug videos a few times now, and think I have a general idea about what to do. I'm still trying to decide if I should just by whoopie slings or make them myself. Thanks everyone for the support!

Whoopie Slings are the easiest part of a hammock to build. As for fabrics, there are several good options. So far Efabricsupplier.com has treated me incredibly well and has fantastic prices. And Noah Lamport has been great with their SilNylon I have purchased.

But there are many options, you'll find all the info you need and more in the DIY forum! Glad you came! Enjoy the ride!
