    Hammock suspension Advice

I want to change my DD hammock suspension from the webbing straps they provide to desender rings and webbing straps. i've got a ridge line sorted out with the right ammount of sag that i like. does anyone think these will be strong enough i kind of thought a working load would be about 500kg for these which is well over my weight. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-5m-x-25mm-...item53e5f5c4c2

    Any Thoughts please.

100% polyester, high working load. looks good to me, but as always, no guarantees!

Its strong enough and polyester too. As said, not guaranteed though. FWIW, I'd put my gran in it.

    What dant8ro said!

--My first straps were similar specs, you should be fine... I'd cut the hook off and sew in a loop, if you have a sewing machine. Then you can use Dutch Clips or a carabiner to simplify the tree hookup.

If you're going to buy Dutch Clips, you might find that polyester webbing is cheaper from a different source. Shipping from the US would be high, but I'm sure there are UK suppliers.

Jacks R Better have straps with tri-glides (better than rings) for $24, or about 14GBP... they're pre-sewn and I think lighter than the strap you're looking at on ebay.... Not sure what Shipping would cost.
