    The Indian Blanket Trick

It's spring, and a great time for planting seeds, so I figure I'd plant this seed here and see what grows

same concept involved in making a stretcher with two staves and a blanket like we learned in Boy Scouts.

hey, that's a bridge hammock kinda sorta! It took my going to the 2nd picture in the associated gallery to see that, but once I did the rest of the text made sense. Isn't narrower in the middle so the flat lay thing would not be present or pronounced. Still...

the article suggests that the spreaders are optional...ha! I've been in bridge hammocks without spreader bars and had to call 911 on my cell phone to have some one come and get me out!

    thanks for posting!

You know the routine, oh exalted one... Pics or it didn't happen...

I'd love to see the video on that! Hey Shug: Here's another opportunity for you: Shug's interpretation of Professor Hammock testing his spreaderless bridge...

However you make it, I can promise that hammocks work miracles with cranky babies. That's not just some odd foreign custom. I am sure many a mother from way down south would be dumbfounded to find out it wasn't done in the states. I used one of those cheap net ones. A baby's weight and small size just rolls the tops over and makes a cocoon. Then just rock and listen to the cries wind down, stop, then the exhausted little kid is in in deep sleep. My wife would't let me do it at first because she was afraid that little precious would fall, so I had to wait until she was exhausted and at the end of her rope from having to deal with it. Then I was the big hero, I was a genius, I was wonderful. After that it was: "Hurry up and swing the hammock!"
