Well guys, yes it did. But that’s why we practice before we go into the bush, right? My tarp and paracord came in and I went for it. This was my first attempt at ridgelines and hammock hanging together. My whoopie slings came in too, but haven’t decided on tree straps and toggles yet.
ENO DN, BCUSA tarp and crap straps
If you don’t recognize the tarp it was purchased from bushcraftoutfitters.com for $60. It is a 10x10 and I really like all the tie out points it has. I tried a couple different ways and I decided to go with the tee dee, I think that’s what I read its called, ridgeline for the tarp. I used the prusik knots and a really cheap, small, lightweight carabineer for attachment. It was pretty windy today and I see the need in snake skins. Think I might try them for my first DIY out of an old military mosi net I have laying around. You will also notice in the pictures that my suspension is not at the recommended 30 degree mark. I am still having a hard time getting the HANG, insert cliché laughter here, of it right now. It is really hard to judge with the amount of stretch the slap straps have. At this point when I get in the hammock it is a perfect 30 degrees with only about an inch off of the ground. The crappy thing is that I have to be on my tip toes to get in. That’s some stretch people. Anyway, thanks for looking and open for advice and tips on my set up.
