Well, has anyone slept in it yet? Does it sleep just like the net model?

I've laid in it for awhile but didn't sleep in it yet. I don't have the net version so I can't say, but I do have an ENO double and a HH Explorer UL. This one is more comfortable to me than the ENO or the HH, I think its the length that does it. It's narrower than my others but I was suprised that the narrowness didn't bother me at all.

I do have a question for Neo or the others that have the net version - is there a top and bottom, and how can you tell - both layers seem like the same material to me?

Also I am considering tacking (sewing together) a couple inches of the side where you slide in the pad. Right now if I put in my 40" wide pad, it sticks out sometimes and its hard to keep the two layers of the hammock centered on top of each other. Its not a big deal but I thought it might stay neater if I sewed a couple inches of the open side together. I could still slide in the pad from either end sort of like the z hammock. On the other hand, its really comfortable with the pads in it like it is now, does anyone think this would screw up the comfort (how it feels) by creating tension between the two layers? Maybe I should just trim the gossamer gear pad to 38 or 39 inches wide?

Thumbs up No Net test Hang

Well, I have not slept in it yet, but could not resist hanging it off the deck.
I was curious about the recommended knots so, tried them out
    The bowline on one end

twice around the tree (deck support on other end)

    the slip half hitch

    pulled tighter

I was surprised how quick this works, five minutes first time with taking pics

then the test sit (tightened Up the nots)

I did not hang for very long, but the knots were easy to untie. A full night hang with a 240lb camper mileage may vary.... will report later...

and then getting in before the self timer fires

About 32degF here in central OH this morning, sorry the snow throws off the exposures. The pix don't show me full in as the self timer goes off, but I found it to be very comfortable.
I expected not be able to get it back into the stuff sack but my first attempt at stuffing worked out ok, then I tried z folding and rolling it and found that worked better for me.

This is a compact package that will fit in any kit, I look forward to giving a full field test later on.
