    Light hiker bed roll?

    hey guys,

How cold do you think/have you been with the light hiker bedroll?

I really like the price, and weight of this top quilt so I'm wondering how far it can take me after summer ends. I'm a pretty warm sleeper.

    Your insight would be appreciated.

    -Richard.

I am a warm sleeper, and have been comfortable down to the low 40s with my LHBR. I used it on a 3 day hike with the first 2 being damp/rainy and had no issues.

I got it wet a little the first day - dropped it on the ground while getting out of my hammock. I noted that it dried very quickly. IX being waterproof, pretty much the outter shell was all they had any moisture, and is why it dried quick even though it was still damp/cool/raining out.

Check out my video, and you'll see it wrapped around my foot end as I captured the rain on my tarp while kickin' back in my hammock.

Deucalion, how is the size widthwise? I'm more of a fireplug shape, short and er, uhh, STOUT, yeah, that's it - stout
At 5'8" I don't need long, but at 365-ish, I do need wide.
I already have an IX UQ and like it, although I do need to get a pair of those triangle thingies.

Thanks for any info. Later when I have more time, I will contact the company to see if they can do custom.

Mine arrived today. I can try to get measurements later if D doesn't respond.

Dale is away for a while so you might have to wait to find out about the custom work.

Miboso, The LHBR is about 45 inches wide to allow it to be tucked around the sides while in the hammock. I will be releasing a new version at Trail Days which will allow the user to customize the amount of insulation to fit the conditions and to use it as an underquilt if desired. The bed roll is "mummy" shaped so the 45 inches is at the widest point. Hope this helps, John

what i'd like to know about it is how it feels on a night with high humidity. it would seem (to me, with no experience with it other than seeing it for a few minutes) that it would get kind of sticky and catch a lot of condensation. maybe i'm wrong, but that was my gut reaction upon seeing it...
