    And there is a nice trail that starts in North Adams and heads north for a fair stretch of the legs. Nice guide book available to help you segment it. http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp...FVCd4Aod734ATw

    Guide is detailed, informative and accurate. Starts out easily and gets more challenging... Take the overlook trails at every opportunity, they are well worth it.

    I'll add Camp Sayre in Milton (right near the Blue Hills) and the lovely Nobscot Scout Reservation in Sudbury. I do believe both allow outside (Re: non-scout) groups to reserve campsites.

    There's also Breakhart Reservation in Saugus good for a stealth hang or two (try under the power lines off Water Street), and just about any State Park 'round these parts.
