I'm coming to the MA hang during the weekend of May 13/14, and I make a mean SPAM-infused Vodka!

Now, as to SPAM .... it is Food Of The Gods.
We dare not inquire as to its make-up, just that it is the perfect food, able to be used in the woods in myriad ways. Hot. Cold. Warm. I just wanted to showcase this delectable and versatile item. I have even used it to plug a hole in my boat once, and it worked!

FYI - did you all know that many state fairs have a prize category for SPAM recipes?

Well, now HF hangers (in Mass, at least) will too!
Mr. Hormel loved the US military so much cause he sent us so much of his beloved canned spam animal.

Needless to say, I am up for the challange. Be prepared to be amazed.

Thanks. We have a "bottom heavy" troop. A new generation. Will share with them.

    3 Dozen Large eggs
    2 lbs. shredded Cheese
    2 pkgs. Pepper Gravy Mix
    1 Cup Milk

Brown the spam in the dutch oven with some oil. Salt and pepper at this point doesn't hurt. If diced fresh potatoes are used, add them during the spam cooking to get them started. Otherwise add tater tots, eggs, milk, and gravy to the dutch oven. Cover and cook for about 45 minutes with 6 or 8 briqs on the bottom and a dozen or so on top.

About half way through cooking, stir in half the shredded cheese. When set all the way through, Stir in the rest of the cheese, set this on the table and stand back! People will hurt each other trying to get this stuff.

Serving this with picante sauce and burrito wraps is an excellent breakfast.

I post the recipe because, from Arkansas and with my schedule, I can't make it there.
Enjoy and let us know how it goes!

===> SPAM is also the perfect bait in a snare trap. Worked perfectly already. Almost as good as peanut butter, which always works! So, maybe we can have some Spam-and-rabbit Dutch Oven stew at the hang!
