    Adjustable Grip Hitch

In my never ending search for great knots I have discovered and am now using this Knot to tie off my tarp corners. I like to use Mason Line for obvious reasons and really like it's durability, price and the fact that I don't take a major hit in the wallet when I want to replace or change length of my lines.
I have only recently started using this knot but find it to be a superior knot to the obligatory taut-line that I have used faithfully for many years. But its time was up and I needed something that provided more assurance. This is my new knot. It hasen't been tested in severe conditions but I think it will stand up better than other knots of its class. It seems to hold much better with the Mason Line and I'm eagar to put it to the test. If you have been using it, how is your experience?

Sounds better, and looks really easy to tie. I myself always use the taught line hitch. I will give it a try myself.

I am a fan of the slip knot myself. I'm also not on speaking terms with the taut-line.

I was looking for something to work better on the mason line. This may be it. I used the mason line on my last trip and had trouble with the taut line

    Wow,
I use the TLH all the time and make the Scouts tie it, but this is faster and grips better at least with the rope I use.
I too will switch (Boys can learn both... he he)
    Thanks for sharing

I like this knot! It's pretty windy right now here in Austin; I'm gonna go set-up and see how they hold (using the Home Depot mason line). Thanks for the link.

Again I see someone is trying to improve on the Taughtline Hitch. I can see how this adjustable grip hitch is a good hitch, but not any better, or faster or easier to tie than a Taughtline hitch. In fact on the same page as the link above this person shows the "inferior" Taughtline Hitch, TIED INCORRECTLY! No wonder the Slide and Grip Hitch grips better for him, he is tying the Taughtline all wrong!

I know, you've all heard me say this before, but I will keep saying it. I have not yet found a slide and grip hitch that is easier to tie, faster to tie (or untie) or that grips better than a correctly tied Taughtline hitch!

    Incorrectly tied Taughtline Hitch

    Correctly tied Taughtline Hitch

I have never used Mason Line tho

    Sorry Hogn8r,

They both looked the same to me. I like the taughtline hitch ordinarily, but so far on mason line this adjustable grip hitch is working best.
