    tarp fabric advice needed!

hi all, quick question about tarp fabric
what would you recommend for a good light tarp and where to get it from
I thought of sil, but worried about the misting issue found some 1st at a great price
wondering about spinn, and where to get it and at what price and how it lasts
I saw and like cuben but dislike the price and not sure about durability especially at that price
    are there other options
I'm trying to lower my base weight but still want good coverage, I'm currently using the hh 70d hex tarp, love the coverage but not the weight

    thanks in advance
    FRED

If you're making your first tarp, use sil. The misting won't bother you; it'll just let you know when you lived through a "frog-strangler", but it won't get your gear wet (much) (and not very often)*. Besides the slipperyness of the fabric will force you to improve your fine-motor skills and sewing technique.

And sil will teach a few new swear words.
