I got lots of great answers on my last question about winter camping, Thanks everyone. I am also curious, about how many times in a year does everyone get out on the trails in their hammocks?

I would like to say I get out a lot but I tend to have around 15-20 nights a year....6-8 of those for the Idaho Hang in the fall and then some overnighters. I also get 6-10 nights in my hammock here at home. Wish I could get more than that but with kids in sports during the fall and spring, wife running races and training for races year round now plus a very busy business I have to work for every night I can slip away.

I don't get "out" much but I sleep outside the house in the hammock about four nights out of seven.
Last year my goal (with my wife's help) was to hike at least once a month for a minimum of one night. I am so glad I was able to make that last year.
I ended up at about 22-25 nights on the trail last year in my hammock, another 15-20 in my backyard and another 10-12 in my basement.
I would have a great year this year if I duplicated last.

A trip every other month 1-3 nights. So maybe 12-16 nights per year. This year I am determined to get out once a month for at least one night. Outside hanging that is. I sleep in one nightly.
We should start a hammock night challenge. The forum Back Country Post does a bag night challenge. Not sure how to track it, maybe a Google spread sheet.
I haven't done much more that spend some nights in my backyard for a couple of years. Once I have my masters and am teaching full time, I will actually have more time as I'll have summers off and a full time income. We'll also be empty nesters in the next 5 years or so and that will free up more time as well. Until then, I will proudly sleep between two 6x6 posts in my backyard.

Six to eight trips two nights each. Woods behind my house another bunch of nights. Haven't had the chance for a trip longer than a long weekend but would like to.

My goal for this year is at least one 2-3 night river trip/paddle/camp a month. I'm hoping for two per month, plus 2-3 weeklong river trips. From April through October my work schedule will be Friday - Monday off every other weekend, so the opportunity is there to go twice a month. Fingers crossed that I can meet my goal.

A conservative guess would be that I'm hanging out around 40-60 nights a year. I'm a climber and alpinist so I'm always traveling to exotic places around the world. I love my lifestyle (and my hammock) and wouldn't trade either for anything else
The only correct answer? Not nearly as much as I'd like to!
A small child and a job that goes through the weekends has cut into my opportunities to get outside the backyard much. This year, I'm trying my luck at introducing my wife to (short) backpacking trips. Her having only ever camped in the backyard, it may get interesting! The goal is to get her comfortable enough to bring my daughter along with us... Fingers crossed!
